It's On; It's On

I got the new Regina Spektor album, Far. I am still deciding on it. Some of the songs are definitely good. My initial thoughts are that it feels a little overproduced and overloaded with sounds that don't need to be there: superfluous strings and cymbal cluttered drums and such.

I also picked up the new Busdriver album, Jhelli Beam, a little while back. It's pretty schticky, boring, and more of the same. Think of his Memoirs of the Elephant Man and you're on the right track. If you're not familiar with Busdriver, you definitely want to do yourself a favor and give Fear of a Black Tangent and Roadkill Overcoat a listen.

Saul Williams' Amethyst Rock Star is an oldie but it's great. This goes for KMD's Black Bastards too. These are a couple of the better albums I've heard in a while. I only wish I'd known about them sooner.
