I have a thing that has yet to be diagnosed to any satisfaction. I am making an appointment with a specialist today. Whatever it is, it makes sitting for long periods extremely uncomfortable. I am in greater or lesser degrees of discomfort most of the time, but sitting in a desk chair aggravates matters a great deal. This has put me significantly behind in my work.
Over the weekend I jury-rigged a stand-up desk by placing a tall dresser back-to-back with a short dresser. So far it seems to work pretty well. If this arrangement continues to work out, I may look into building something more permanent in a few weeks. It may also be critical that I scrounge up a laptop somehow. I need to bring in more money on a more reliable basis so I don't have to scrounge for these things in the future.
It truns out I have very high cholesterol also. My LDLs are particularly bad. I have to do some more research to insure I fully understand it all, but near as I can tell, my LDL counts are higher than your total cholesterol levels should be. The doctor has prescribed medication and I'll see how that works. The issue now is working things out with the insurance.
I started changing up my diet immediately. That part is easiest for me. I like a lot of different kinds of food. Cutting a few out and adding some new ones in isn't a problem. I fear it's going to be a little more expensive, but maybe I can start a garden or something. Unfortunately, my initial research leads me to believe diet is unlikely to have a significant impact. But we'll see.
